The Logical Fallacy of Imperialism

The primary argument used by imperialists to denigrate non-interventionism is:

“Things are different now. The world is more complicated, today.  Therefore, we cannot afford to be non-interventionist.”

That is what is known as a “non sequitur”. (The cause and effect are not related. The effect does not follow the cause)

Modern geo political complexity is not a justification for interventionism. If anything, it is a justification for non-interventionism as complexity begets chaos and unintended consequences.

Furthermore, neocon imperialist logic is “circular” in that it seeks to justify expanding foreign intervention on the grounds that expanded foreign intervention requires it.

I award neocons 0 debate points, and may God have mercy on their soul.
